This has to be one of the longest stretched of cloudy nights we have had in Lansing! I don;t think I have seen a clear sky in the last month!!! WE might try and open up Fox Park Observatory this weekend, Feb. 2-3- Clear Sky charts are showing clear skies predicted for this weekend.

Also please see the other post on the Abrams Planetarium 60th Birthday celebration this weekend Feb. 2-4! Free shows all weekend and a party at the planetarium on Saturday from 1-4pm

Our February Astronomy club meeting will be on Wednesday Feb. 7 at 7pm.

We have the annual roundup of the best images from the APOD website- The Astronomy Picture of the Day, presented by Dr. Robert Nemiroff. You might not know the APOD is a collaboration between Michigan Technological University and The NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center.

The APOD archive contains the largest collection of annotated astronomical images on the internet.

We will watch the presentation on the dome, This is a recent webinar from the NASA night sky network, and Astronomical Society of the Pacific.
