Observing Event: Lunar Eclipse May 15, 2022

Updated: Apr 28, 2022

We will be hosting a Lunar Eclipse observing event at Fox Park Observatory on Sunday May 15. Bring out your binoculars, telescopes, cameras, or just bring a chair and enjoy watching the Earth's shadow move across the lunar surface.

We will have live video of the Moon on one of the monitors along with telescopes for viewing.

The Eclipse begins at 9:32 pm, but the moon will be only 7 degrees above the horizon to start. The Total Eclipse starts at 11:29 pm.

UPDATE:

The MSU Observatory just informed me that they are also planning an event to view the Lunar Ecliipse. Both events will be sure to draw crowds! The MSU event runs from 10:30pm to 12:30 am
