This month is the Annual MSU Science Festival!
Unfortunately due to covid, most events are online and virtual this year, but there are many talks, demonstrations, tours, and performance events to view from home. There are also some self-guided activities around campus to do while social distancing. The website has a daily schedule which is jam packed with activities- some of the notable astronomy related activities are:
Astronomy on Tap event April 6, 7-9pm: Will have a virtual planetarium show that will showcase the new Mars rover, Perseverance, a talk about performing planetary science experiments in microgravity, and an Astronomy News update! Our presenters will be Austin Edmister from the Ella Sharp Museum, Dr. Addie Dove from the University of Central Florida, and Dr. Chelsea Harris from MSU. https://msu.zoom.us/j/97918438798

We will look at different skies under different conditions to see firsthand the effects of light pollution, and then do a demonstration about light shields to show how everyone has the power to combat it!
