November Newsletter

There is going to be a total lunar Eclipse the morning of Nov. 8! For our November meeting We will go over the details of the Eclipse- What time is totality? Where will the moon be located? How long will it be in Totality? How does an eclipse occur? We will show some eclipse animations on the dome and can also discuss photography tips and best locations to view around the area. Do we want to plan a meetup early that morning for an Eclipse viewing?

See you on Wednesday Nov. 2. at 7pm at Abrams.

MSU Public Nights:

Last weekend was the Final Public Telescope nights at MSU for the season! The weather was great both Friday and Saturday nights. Many families and community members came out from 7-9pm to enjoy views of the thin crescent Moon before it got dark, followed by Saturn and Jupiter. We heard many "wows" and "that can't be real" when showing off Saturn to folks who have never seen it through a Telescope! A big thanks to Dr. Elias Aydi and all the MSU students who are doing such great Astronomy outreach for the Community! Here is a video from MSU College of Natural Science on Dr. Elias:

Remember we still have Fox Park Observatory Public nights all through the winter so please come out and take advantage of the Dark skies and amazing views!
